Community rules

Version 2.2, in force since 22 September 2026.

Weejo is for going out with people. To keep that simple and safe, there are a few rules. They are part of the terms of use and apply everywhere in the app: your profile, your outings, the discussions, the badges, matchmaking and the feedback you send us. This is a translation of the French text, which prevails in case of discrepancy.

Be yourself

  • You are 16 or over, and your date of birth is the real one.
  • Your photo is you. Not another person, not a character, not a brand.
  • One account per person. No account to get around a suspension.
  • You do not pass yourself off as someone else: not a person, not an organisation, not a member of the Weejo team.
  • An organisation (association, bar, venue, public body) presents itself as such, from a verified professional account.

Respect others

  • No harassment, insults, threats, or mockery about appearance, origin, religion, gender, orientation, disability or age.
  • You sign up for an activity, not for a conversation: no unsolicited advances, no insisting after a no.
  • No sexual content, whether in a photo, in text or as a disguised outing.
  • What belongs to others stays theirs: no photo of someone without their consent, no number, address or surname shared on their behalf, no screenshot of a discussion posted elsewhere.
  • A deleted message is deleted for everyone, but a report may keep a copy. Write what you would stand by face to face.
  • If someone bothers you, block them: you will no longer see each other in the app, and they will not know.

Propose real outings

  • An outing says what it is, where and when. No misleading description, no fake outing to draw a crowd.
  • An outing you can no longer hold, you cancel or move: participants are told automatically.
  • No dangerous or illegal activity, no outing whose real purpose is to sell something, to recruit, to proselytise or to meet minors.
  • You comply with the law, in particular on alcohol and minors. An outing can set a minimum age; use it when needed.
  • Nothing is bought and nothing is paid through Weejo. A seat is not for sale, and neither is an invite code.

No hidden advertising, no scams

  • An organisation talking about its activity does so from an identified professional account. From an individual's account, that is hidden advertising, and it is prohibited.
  • No cold approaches, no fraudulent links, no harvesting of addresses or numbers, no pyramid schemes, no fake ticketing.
  • Badges are given; they are not negotiated and not traded for a favour.

Minors

Members aged 16 and 17 are present. Their age is visible on their profile. Any behaviour by an adult aimed at isolating, seducing or luring a minor is reported to the authorities. Matchmaking is closed to them.

Stay careful in real life

Weejo does not organise outings and cannot intervene on the spot.

  • Choose a public place for a first outing, and get there by your own means.
  • Tell someone you trust where you are going.
  • Keep a way to get home by yourself, and do not give out your address.
  • Sharing your position during an outing is meant for someone close to you, not for a whole discussion.
  • In an emergency, call the emergency services: 112 anywhere in Europe, 17 for the police in France, 3114 if you need someone to talk to.

Report, we read

You can report a profile, an outing or a message from the app, in three taps. Your report is anonymous towards the person concerned, it is read by a person on our team, and you are told when it has been reviewed. A word list helps us spot what to read first; it decides nothing.

Reporting to harm someone, or mass-reporting for no reason, is also a breach of these rules.

What happens if a rule is broken

Depending on seriousness and repetition:

  1. The content is removed, or the outing cancelled.
  2. You receive a reminder of the rules, which says what it is about. The next reminder suspends the account.
  3. The account is suspended, for a set period or not.
  4. The account is deleted.

A serious breach (threats, endangerment, sexual content involving a minor, fraud) skips the steps and may be passed on to the authorities. Every measure reaches you with its reason, and you can contest it by writing to contact@weejo.app.
